The Excluded Minors for Lattice Path Polymatroids

چکیده
We find the excluded minors for minor-closed class of lattice path polymatroids as a subclass Boolean polymatroids. Like matroids and polymatroids, there are infinitely many minors, but they fall into small number easily-described types.

Lattice path matroids: The excluded minors
A lattice path matroid is a transversal matroid for which some antichain of intervals in some linear order on the ground set is a presentation. We characterize the minor-closed class of lattice path matroids by its excluded minors.

There are exactly seven excluded minors for the class of GF(4){representable matroids. Note: The research for this paper was carried out under the PNA1.1-project P&BS of CWI, while J.F. Geelen and A. Kapoor visited the CWI in Amsterdam with nancial support from EIDMA.
متن کاملToric Ideals of Lattice Path Matroids and Polymatroids
We show that the toric ideal of a lattice path polymatroid is generated by quadrics corresponding to symmetric exchanges, and give a monomial order under which these quadrics form a Gröbner basis. We then obtain an analogous result for lattice path matroids.
متن کاملOn the excluded minors for quaternary
This paper strengthens the excluded-minor characterization of GF(4){representable ma-troids. In particular, it is shown that there are only nitely many 3{connected matroids that are not GF(4){representable and that have no U 2;6
